INSTRUCTIONAL
SUPPORT
P2A uses an interactive “feedback” system to target
instructional content where students need it most. Here’s
how P2A’s feedback system works.
Just like the actual CAHSEE, incorrect answer
choices in P2A are based on common student errors and gaps in knowledge.
Each time a student selects an incorrect answer choice, the student
receives instructional feedback directly related to his or her error.
Each student who selects an incorrect answer is provided with customized
feedback and prompted to try the question again. If the student
responds incorrectly a second time, more detailed feedback guides
the student through a detailed explanation
of the solution.
P2A’s feedback-based learning system makes
P2A more than just a tool for CAHSEE practice. P2A’s feedback-based
learning system makes P2A a tool for standards-based mastery of
CAHSEE content.

Feedback for choice A:
Try again. 7 is the mode not the median.
Feedback for choice B: Correct!
Feedback for choice C: Try again. Be sure to include both
7's when you figure out the median.
Feedback for choice D: Try again. 8.5 is the mean,
not the median.
